Launceston Town Council provides a range of services, manages several properties and sites of historical interest and provides a number of social and recreational facilities for Launceston.
The Town Council acts as a lobbying force with regional and national government, appoints councillors to sit on outside organisations and works to promote and support Launceston.
Launceston Town Council has 16 councillors elected for a term of four years. The next Town Council elections are in May 2021.

The funeral for Cllr Val Bugden-Cawsey will be held at 11am on Tuesday 5th February at Launceston Central Methodist Church. A reception will take place after the service at Launceston Town Hall.
Alison Hernandez, The Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has written to provide update on budget preparations for Devon and Cornwall Police for 2019/20 and to draw attention to an online poll launched on 9th January to seek the public’s views on council tax precept levels for the coming year.
The Chief Constable and The Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and IoS are currently working to finalise the budget ahead of its submission to the Police and Crime Panel on 8th February and would like to encourage the community to engage with a precept survey to share their views with The Police and Crime Commissioner on this important issue.

Launceston Town Hall is an award winning building with state of the art lighting and sound systems, it is fully licensed, adjacent to a 128 space multi-storey car park (which is free after 6pm), and even boasts under floor heating to ensure the 450 capacity Main Hall is nice and toasty on the darkest winter nights!
