The impressive and historic Guildhall was built in 1881 and is used by Launceston Town Council as the Council Chamber and by Cornwall Registration Service as the Register Office. It is a prestigious space with magnificent stained glass windows, a soaring wooden ceiling, oil paintings and portraits of former Mayors which all add to the sense of history and grandeur. The Guildhall still has its original gas lamps – although they now run on electricity.
It is ideally suited to board meetings, presentations, training sessions, conferences and small corporate functions or makes for an intimate and atmospheric venue for art exhibitions, spoken word and music performances.
